Mechanic at work…

Just prior to starting this blog, I was grappling with my identity as a writer. I didn’t want to be a professional, writing words that sell, but I didn’t want to starve either. I was ready to give it up, call myself something else entirely. My shamanic therapist at the time told me a writer doesn’t get to decide on things like that. She said to think like I was a mechanic. Sometimes you work on the shiny Lexus for the client that pays. Then you can spend hours tooling around on the old beat up VW where your heart really resides.

So that’s my excuse for neglecting this blog about life’s distractions. I’ve been busy at work stabilizing the bread and butter coffers so ramblings like this blog can live. At least I haven’t been occupied with entirely boring, selling-of-the-soul work. In fact it’s been a whole lot fun researching and dreaming. It’s Real Travel France, my new bicycle tour company in the South of France.

I’ve been busy writing and organizing the website for our 2014 tours. Have a look, and consider joining in on one of our tours or at least passing the idea on to friends.

Hopefully, I’ve written words that sell…
